A safety management
system (SMS) is designed to manage safety and risk in the workplace.
The system is used to manage occupational safety and to identify and
reduce the risk to a level that is as low as is reasonably practicable
to prevent people getting hurt. An SMS provides a systematic way to
continuously identify and monitor hazards and control risks while
maintaining assurance that these risk controls are effective.
This introductory course will assist people in gaining
the reasoning and knowledge of the SMS which will increase safety
awareness and safety culture within an organisational workspace. This
course also provides a solid foundation into my Advanced Safety
Management Systems course.
